A Prayer With Everything
Offering the four parts of ourselves to God
Mark 12:29-31NIV
Hear, O Lord. You are one, and there is no other. We come to love you with all our heart, and we confess that our hearts are divided. Gather them.
With all our soul, and we confess that we have hidden parts of ourselves from you. Search them. With all our mind, and we confess that we have been lazy in thinking about you and quick to think about everything else. Renew them. With all our strength, and we confess that our best energy often goes to lesser things. Take it.
And teach us the second commandment, to love the neighbor we did not choose as carefully as we love ourselves. Make our love for you visible in how we treat the people nearest to us.
To those who are not far from your kingdom, bring them in. To those already in, keep us loving. Amen.
